I spent 15 years at a startup where the department didn’t exist until someone built it. Usually that someone was me. Support, billing, onboarding, HR, marketing ops — not because I couldn’t pick a lane, but because there were no lanes yet.

That’s still how I work. I see what’s missing or broken and I build the thing before anyone asks me to.

I started doing that with AI-powered internal tools when I realized I could describe a process better than most developers could spec it. Turns out, being the person who built the process from scratch is a superpower when you’re working with AI.
